Patient Care Advisors

Our Patient Care Advisors are normally your first contact with the practice. They are trained to direct patients to the most appropriate point of care eg a local pharmacist or other self referral services. Equally they ensure you are booked in with the right in-house clinician eg HCAs, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists or GPs. They are also the messenger for many tasks and messages to be passed to patients from the doctors. This team will also receive requests for repeat prescriptions and generally look after you with routine admin such as patient registrations etc. They have a difficult job but are always trying to help. We are always considerate of our patients, and ask that you are equally considerate to the reception team, especially when they cannot always give you what you want. It is not their fault if we have no appointments left or if the doctors are giving them specific instructions which they must comply with! All our staff are trained in information governance. Exactly the same rules and regulations regarding patient confidentiality apply to all admin, reception and secretarial staff as they do to the doctors and nurses.

Data Quality

The data quality team looks after a realm of data quality areas from Safeguarding and Palliative care administration through to patient records and the management of our recall system.

Maintenance and Domestic Team

For all the important work the doctors, nurse and support teams do, none of us can operate without clean and serviceable premises. Never has infection control and hygiene been more important and the foundation of keeping us all safe starts with the efforts of cleaning team comprising of Rachel, Claire and Jayne. Keeping the premises in full working order and leading the maintenance effort is the role of Phil, our caretaker.

Administration

Less frequently seen by our patients but equally important is the team of behind-the-scenes support staff who ensure records are updated, letters get sent and systems and essential supplies run smoothly. The all important support team comprises of Alex, Jill, Kelly and Nicola along with the Medical Secretaries, Jo and Alison.

Community Midwives

The Community Midwifery Service can be contacted on 01522 573772 to arrange appointments for anti-natal care. Our named midwife Audrey Lyall runs clinics from our practice twice a week, usually on a Monday and Tuesday. Alternatively you can also contact our reception team who will be able to make the appointments for you.
